My Valentine

Valentine’s Day is critical in my book. Every year, there is a need to celebrate the 14th of February if only to toast to making it through a month and a half of post-holiday/winter/grey sky blues. So, on Saturday, I surprised the hubs with a romantic romp around the town. Inspired by this list of spots to spend with your better half in London, our day went like this…

First up was a visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum. It’s free, HUGE, and gorgeous. We headed straight for the William and Judith Bollinger Jewellery Gallery but were inevitably distracted along the way.031 032 034IMG_5485 038

Next on the agenda was a stroll through Old Spitalfields Market, possibly my favorite market in London. The hubs spotted a very cool booth right off the bat and negotiated a great price for two gorgeous French copper pans, along with a refurbished Londonized wine and potato crate. We sampled from just enough wine and chocolate tables to hold us over to lunch.042

At the Fox & Anchor, we sipped on London Lagers, got a little goofy, and satisfied our tummies with some delish pub fare.IMG_5495IMG_3643067IMG_5499

Our final stop, the Whispering Gallery at St. Paul’s Cathedral was a bit of a fail. We arrived past 4 o’clock and visitors were no longer being let in, but ambling around was enjoyable enough.072 078 087 089

Later, we had fabulous French fare at Garnier. I’ve lately become obsessed with all things French and even had a dream that we had to move to Paris for six months. My premonitions have proved true in the past…IMG_5505
