Beautiful Berlin

A crisp fall day in Berlin will be tough to beat. The city is architecturally stunning, with a perfect combination of old and new. Our hotel was situated on the West side, and

we experienced the endless shopping streets while going back and forth from the conference. Yesterday, we set out to see the east side sites and were overwhelmed by the number of remarkable buildings and historically significant landmarks, including remnants of the Berlin Wall. Tower cranes and construction sites blanketed any untouched areas, which to us construction nerds, was incredible to see.

Two hundred and some odd photos later, we sat down for a beer, brat and soft pretzel at a little cafe just across from the Großer Stern (Berlin Victory Column). We probably walked nearly five miles, and had only stopped for a Nutella crepe (which was AMAZING!).

The breathtaking buildings and fantastic food made for a wonderful trip, but I am leaving with a little regret that time didn’t allow for shopping. Had I not been recovering from the flu, I might have had to buy another bag!
