Local tourist

Mom, you would be proud, we went to church yesterday. Not just any church, the church of royal weddings and such.

For a Sunday stroll, I tricked Mark into taking the tube just a few stops away to Westminster, where you can see the London Eye, the Household Cavalry, Trafalgar Square, the National Portrait Gallery, St. James and Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, and Parliament and Big Ben within a two hour walk. We kind of followed this walking guide, but missed a few of the side streets because we were too busy “looking right.” I was completely enthralled with the amazing landmarks just 15 minutes away from our flat. Mark was a little more amused with the trained hawk than the royal horses whose hoofs probably costed exponentially more than my shoes, but he was a trooper.

We picked up lattes at Cafe Nero and sat by the fountains in Trafalgar Square like it was our neighborhood park bench, I was utterly giddy. I’m really working on my photography skills; there’s quite a bit of room for improvement, but practicing here is so much fun. A few of my favorites from our tour…
